Placing a Hold

To place a hold on a library material using the MORE website or the MORE app

  1. Log in to your account or open the app
  2. Locate the material you'd like to request
  3. If you are using the app, select your preferred format (options may include book, large print, audiobook, eBook, etc.; there also might only be one option) OR tap the title of the material and choose your preferred format from the dropdown
  4. Click the green Place hold button
  5. Select your desired pickup location
  6. Click the red Place hold button

You will be notified when your item is ready

Single-Click Holds

To make placing holds easier and faster, you have the option to enable single-click holds. If enabled, your holds will be placed after you click the first "Place hold" button and routed to your preferred pickup location. This can be enabled, disabled, or modified at any time.

To enable/disable single-click holds on the MORE website

  1. Visit My Settings
  2. Under Account Preferences, click Holds and Pickup Location
  3. Click the slider next to "Single-click holds is disabled/enabled."
  4. Click the red Save Changes button
  5. If you are enabling single-click holds, you may also want to confirm your preferred pickup location

To enable/disable single-click holds on the MORE app

  1. Select the gear in the upper right corner
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Under Account Preferences, locate Holds and Pickup Location
  4. Select Change next to "Single-click holds is disabled/enabled."
  5. Tap the slider next to "Single-click holds is disabled/enabled."
  6. Select the red Save Changes button
  7. If you are enabling single-click holds, you may also want to confirm your preferred pickup location

Managing Holds

To manage your holds using the MORE website or the MORE app

  1. Visit My Library Dashboard or open the app
  2. Under My Borrowing, click On Hold (if using the app, select My Borrowing, then On Hold)
  3. Your current holds will show, along with their status
    • Ready - the item is ready to pickup at your preferred location and "pick up by" date
    • In transit - the item is on its way to your preferred pickup location
    • Not ready - the hold has not yet been fulfilled; you will also see when the hold expires
  4. You can cancel any hold by clicking the Cancel hold button - you will be removed from the hold list, but have the option to save it to one of your lists (click Cancel hold again to confirm)
  5. You can pause any hold that has not yet been fulfilled by clicking the Pause hold button - this will save your place on the hold list until you're ready to resume the hold
  6. You can resume any paused hold by clicking the Resume hold button
