Placing & Managing Library Holds

You are able to place a hold on many physical materials at the CVTC Library and in the MORE Libraries system. To begin, locate the item you would like to hold using either the MORE catalog or OneSearch. If you are starting in OneSearch, click “Access options”, and click “Request this item”. You will be taken to the MORE record for the item. On the item’s record, click “Place hold” - you may be asked to log in or select a pickup location. You will be notified when the hold is ready to be picked up. To manage your holds, visit your MORE library dashboard. Under “My Borrowing”, click “On Hold”. You will see any materials you have previously placed on hold, along with their status, pickup location, and expiration date. Click “Pause hold” if you’re not ready to receive the item. When you are ready, come back and click “Resume hold”. If you no longer want the item, click “Cancel hold” - this will remove you from the hold list and you will lose your current position. To confirm, click “Cancel hold”.

For questions about placing and managing holds, please contact the Library.

Renewing Library Materials

You are able to renew most items you have checked out from the CVTC Library or other MORE libraries to extend your due date. To renew materials:

  1. Log in to your library account
  2. Under "My Borrowing", click "Checked Out"
  3. Click the red "Renew" button on any items you would like to renew
  4. If the renewal is granted, you will receive a confirmation message
  5. Your renewal may not be granted if the item is on hold for another patron, if you have already renewed the item twice, or if renewals are not allowed on the item.

For questions about renewing library materials, please contact the Library.
