Study Copyright Policy

All students must be respectful of copyright laws and related College policies. Assume that all work is copyrighted, even if the copyright symbol (©) is not on the material. This includes materials generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material (including peer-to-peer file sharing, digital or print textbook copying) may be subject to civil and criminal penalties. Student violators of this copyright policy will also be subject to the Student Code of Conduct discipline sanctions as outlined in the Student Handbook.

Students seeking assistance with copyright questions can contact the library at library@cvtc.edu or visit the U.S. Copyright Office website, http://www.copyright.gov/.

Students are informed annually of the College’s copyright policy as part of the Student Right-to-Know information in the Student Handbook.
